I will go so far as to say ANY other Indian / Sri Lankan restaurant in Canberra would be better value than this place!

Food nothing to write home about - better elsewhere. They also charge a fortune for a bottle of wine so we asked the owner if they do BYO and he replied "Yes, wine only". So we went and bought our own bottles around the corner. What the owner neglected to inform us was that it would cost us $12 corkage per bottle!! We found that out the hard way when going to pay for the bill. Free money for them - No cork, they didn't pour it for us nor did they put it in an ice bucket. When suggested to the owner that we should've been told up front and that we could've at least been given an ice bucket for that price, he was very argumentative and disrespectful. He lied and said he responded "Yes, wine only, $12 corkage"......hmmm don't think so - all 7 people at our table couldn't be wrong.

The food here is great, and the restaurant is lovely. There is an excellent range of dishes for anyone intolerant to gluten/dairy or is vegan/vegetarian. Just don't disagree with anything the staff say or question anything even to genuinely seek understanding. They range from rather abrupt, to downright over the top rude, mean, and incredibly (unnecessarily) defensive.

For around $30 a main meal you would expect something special. But you would be disappointed here. You think you are ordering a curry but what you get is a very small amount of curry and a large mound of rice with minuscule side dishes where you can hardly get your spoon into the dish because the dish is so small!

And if you're ordering lamb biriyani please be aware the pieces of lamb are the same size as sultanas! Yep. I actually mistook sultanas for the lamb as I searched through the dish. Unbelievable!
